Press release of June 4th, 2009

For the quality management of modern companies of the polymer processing sector, a continuous recording of process data is elementary. Because that is the only way to reproduce the manufactured batch. Furthermore, weak points in production can specifically be detected and eliminated. Here, the data recording system ONEdatagate from BSG offers ideal requirements. It is suitable for all kind of extruder lines as well as for film, sheet and profile lines. Continuous or batch processes can consistently be recorded and analysed. As of June, after extensive modifications, the present version 3 which is used by famous companies worldwide will be replaced by version 4.

Process data like balance throughput, temperature of extruder zones, take-off speed, number of revolutions etc. are recorded and displayed online. Alarms and events are time-stamped and imaged in a diagram. At anytime, an analysis of historic data is possible without interrupting the online data recording. The process data is stored in a standardized Microsoft SQL data bank with which the basis for a communication with other systems is provided. Because of open interfaces, ONEdatagate can be integrated into the IT structure and corresponding MES/ERP systems without difficulties.

The new version impresses because of considerable more configuration possibilities, faster loading of data of the SQL data bank as well as new features, e. g. the indication of minimum and maximum values within a trend. The look&feel of the program has completely been revised. Until now, only eight trends could simultaneously be displayed on the screen. With the new version, it is possible to image as many trend lines as desired within a diagram. Moreover, each trend can be given an individual look. Furthermore, alarm and message icons can be configurated. The diagram area as well as the axes and the arrangement of the windows within the program can be adapted to individual preference. The configurations can be stored as templates. In each area of the program surface, working with context menus is possible with which more ergonomic and intuitive working is possible.

With an ONEdatagate system, process data of several machines can simultaneously be recorded. Therefore, the investment in a software upgrade is low.

With statistical functions, the recorded data is efficiently analysed. The printing function was essentially improved. Up to now, it was only possible to print the trends and actual value table, now these functions are extended by the possibility to make individual shift protocols as electronic documentation file in PDF format.

„Altogether, a round package which more than fulfils the requirements of modern IT structures of the companies and documentation of the quality assurance" says Rainer Merissen, President of BSG.
